I started construction on this during my last days in the Navy when I retired from the Navy I resumed construction it took 8 years to build 10ft in length....... Built as a RC model been in the drink a couple good dozen times I decided not to have her as running model getting to old to load her up and launch her in the sea of my choice. Weighs 140lbs at 74 years young OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh you can see my point I have no dummy helpers out there to help me load her up on the boat trailer.. The plans that were used on the model came from the floating dry dock they have hundreds of plans of the steel navy as to the rag sailor they have no plans Her here she is BIG MO Boats![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

WHAT GETS ME IS THESE MODELS WERE BUILT SO LONG AGO AND THEY ARE IN JUST IN A BEAUTIFUL STATE. YOU NORMALLY SEE A LOT OF MODELS REACHING THESE YEARS IN SERVICE, DUSTY GRIMMY, MISSING PIECES, AND YOURS ARE FANTASTIC.........! AND TOP IT OFF THIS ONE IS 10FT LONG NOT TOO MANY PLACES TO KEEP FROM DUST. PLUS MAKING A DISPLAY CASE, THAT CASE WOULD BE BIGGER THEN THE BOAT.........OHCH!!

It makes this intermediate modeler fell inadaquite. I can only do the best i can continue to improve and most of all enjoy myself. Thanks for sharing Don

As to the conditions of the collections I take care of them everyday like a curater in a museum. they are pretty well covered up with protection to keep dust a models worst enemy I will be posting some more of my builds stay tune shipmates. Last time I seen a model that big was at a model show about five years ago in Kitchener, Ontario. I believe it was the HMS Prince of Wales (an R/C). I don't recall how many moving parts it had on it, but the chap had a stand for his homemade remote. It was an impressive piece of work in itself.
