It arrived about 9:00 last night (!?!) FedEx from Age of Sail. It was in the original shipping box from Italy - a little beat up but the internal box appears undamaged. So I opened the box this morning to look her over, and HOLY SMOKES!!!! This thing is HUGE!!! I mean, I got out the tape measure when I was looking for a CS and saw the 1150mm (~45.25") length, but the full reality did not hit me until I saw the keel! I'm going to have to put an addition on the house to display her! Anyway, calming down, I've inspected the contents and all seems OK, except the laser-cut (birch?) plywood board with keel and bulkhead pieces is pretty warped - say an inch out of straight. Any ideas on how to straighten it? - Tim

I got one of the original Sergal Cutty Sarks back in the early 70's when they retailed for about $1,550 here in Canada. Some one imported a large quantity of kits, and was unable to pay the duty and taxes. Someone else got them for a song, and then resold them. I got one that had been opened by someone who soon realized he bit off more than he could chew. I dug it out of storage about two months ago, assembled the frame, and proceeded with the first layer of planking. just finishing the last bit of sanding. Then I realized that the Walnut planking was missing. I was also missing the assembly instructions, as well as the bow winch and the bilge pumps. I've ordered and received the planking. Don't know what I'll do about the winch and pumps. Age Of Sail is supposed to be looking into it for me. What I'm trying to get right now is either scans or photo copies of the instructions
