I am doing the Orlop Deck but noticed the inside isn't quite right so guess things going to slow down while I try to adjust a few things. I might need to move on to another section as I been getting frustrated and wanting to just fiddle with meaningless little parts like capstans etc that I don't need to right now. how do you get past the frustrations and want to continue with a project? usually for me it is move to a different area however until I get the frames finished I cant even really do that due to needing the frames in place for reference and with DaveF in hospital etc and not able to help i am back on my own again. I was thinking maybe if I went to 2D I might be able to get it but need to learn to do it 2D in order for it to be of use again no mentor so it is slow trial and error

It is like the tug Alva I have questions on the stern construction and posted questions on several forums and nothing. Even when I connect with someone who actually knows you get a simple answer and when you follow up with questions you get no reply. I kind of think as a hobby there are very few builders who can answer questions. this is why Hahn simplified his model building because a majority would not know what is right or wrong and most don't care either way. over in Europe they take model building quite serious and places like Japan they have respect for skill levels, here the whole thing is just a simple kit building hobby. getting past the frustration of hitting dead ends like an old model builder use to tell me "just make something up" if you can not get an answer then no one knows and if no one knows then your logical answer is as good as any. being a student of Harold Hahn he drilled into me everything has to be perfect. I carried this idea when I began to draw plans, build models and do research. In time I began to realize I was one of so very few who actually cared so over time my level of perfection dropped to the level of hobby kits and so what. personally I maintain as high a level of work as I can. Putting stuff out there for general public consumption it is as Harold said "casting pearls before swine" [ Edited Mon Jan 15 2018, 04:33pm ]

I am going to give cad one more shot I have an idea that might work just gonna take a little to set it up

I have the shapes but they look like too big gaps maybe I need to taper them having them thicker on the outside tapering in to the keel? or are they normally the same thickness as the rest of the stations as I made them here? either way at least I got the hard part out of the way getting the shapes. so finally sorta unstuck![]() ![]() ![]()
