That section would be almost solid wall of timbers parallel to the keel | ||

First I think now is the time I need to do my keel and front and rear deadwoods and my stem and stemson pieces so I can get everything set proper to them. need to figure out the proper widths too as they do have to taper some or wont look right. I think I will use the Naiad for reference for the taper and thicknesses for proportions | ||

![]() Registered Member #105 Joined: Wed Jul 15 2009, 12:01pmPosts: 3560 | 1: in the aft section where would the taper normally start and where would the fwd part of the deadwood end. taper of what? the size and shape of the deadwood is a tough area to design because it is based on the shape of the floor timbers. as the floors go to the stern they are becoming V shaped and at the point you can no longer rest the keelson on the top of the floor is where the frames become 1/2 frames and the point of the forward deadwood. 2: and in the bow where would the taper start and where does it normally end (I am assuming at the front of the false keel as the the regular bow assy would taper little more on its own just wondering about the keel hum processing info | ||

I was just wondering how long the taper normally is same in the bow the keel on most ships tapers there too before the bow parts in front of the stem take a sharper taper | ||
