Guest | When I built my 1:72 "Fantasy" shipwreck diorama I removed one whole section of the hull in order to reduce the size of the composition that looked too big to my eye. This diorama is scheduled for completion this summer when the warmer weather arrives.Until then I would like to do a small vignette using this removed section. My ultimate goal is to do a 1:64 POF cross section of a model ship yet to be decided upon preferable one that sailed the Great Lakes. Although my "Fantasy" shipwreck diorama was what I like to call a "Handbuilt model" meaning one that was built using hand tools only. The diorama is made of just wood and sand. The term scratch building has become meaningless anymore. I was planning on using a kit, the 1:64 Confederacy by Chuck Passario but when I looked at the plans and instructions I realized that kit building was just not for me.I have been scratch building for too long to follow booklets and instructions anymore, must be getting old I guess. And besides a lot of the fittings are out of scale and poorly made and the instructions can be confusing. Guest | I have the original 1/64 frame outlines from the kit that I never built and all of the accessories that went with it.The above pic was taken when the frames were already reduced to 1:72. [ Edited Mon Mar 26 2018, 04:54pm ] | ||
