Tonight after work I will be drawing up the cross section for my midships so that I get the wood sizes etc all in place before I start making all the internal structure. I still have a few adjustments to make on the aft section of the hull, however i need a break so that my head clears on the stations and come back to the hull with a clear head. Here are a few pics of where I am at currently. Once it gets all Finished the plans will be available for download for free. At 1/32 scale the ship comes in at 46.5" on the gun deck. I will probably offer it in 1/24 1/32 and 1/48 scale something you never see with the others they all only offer 1 size. With my Solidworks program it allows me to draw it once and just scale it when I save the file. Another thing is once finished I will have a full set of E-drawings with the plans which allows you guys to see everything in 3D and rotate around the part you want to see better. also allows you to cut a cross section where ever you like and turn on and off various parts to see something better. A lot of other guys are starting on the 3D thing, However they still fall way short compared to what I will be offering. Their 3D you are stuck with a flat image THEY provide so with mine it is completely interactive and you can look at what you want and not what others think you want and use the 3D as more of a gimmick to sell their plans and kits. I will be giving you much more and all for free. So hang out for the next generation of interactive plans. I will provide a link to download the E-Drawing viewer after work tonight and a sample file of the hull for the Viper so that you can look and see what the benefits of an interactive set of plans will be vs flat 3D images. I think you are not understanding what an Interactive 3D is because a PDF is like the crap the others doing. this is interactive gives the builder full control as if he was sitting here at my cad machine. he can turn things on and off to see a part better rotate around the part zoom in on it and much more including making notes right in the viewer | ||
