The first step is to glue the 4 templates to the strongback in order to lay the planks. I have to draw a centerline down the strongback and the templates then glue them down. I've discovered that the centerline on 2-3 of the 4 templates are off by about 1/32" over a 2" run. My question is, is this level of variance normal in a small kit like this, or do I need to somehow true up the templates? Thanks, Robert

Having never built the particular model its kind of hard to determine if that would make a big difference. In my experience I have found that kits can be off a little. Some times to the point where its better to reconstruct the piece yourself than to use the one that came with the kit. To me 1/32" over 2" is quite a bit.

I found what the problem was in this case I think: the bottom of the templates/bulkheads was not precisely flat, so my square was rocking. I've fixed that and glued up the bulkheads.
