The Virginia was big slow deep in the water and not manoeuvrable lots of gun but most of the time only one or two where able to bare on the Monitor and was a big target. The Monitor on the other hand was faster more manoeuvrable lower in the water and with is swivel turret was able to hit the Virginia each time and was a small target. So one on one me I prefer the Monitor that was able to make circle around the Virginia and hit it as he wish, and the Monitor was able to prevent the Virginia to attack the more vulnerable Union ship. The Virginia received more damage from the Monitor then was able to give. So as I said a mater of debate and opinion. ![]() | ||
