Not in a painted wood finish which a lot of Syrens seem to have. I just had a go at carving. So here is a pic of my first ever attempt at carving and the transom decoration. Don't laugh ![]() Cheers ~ ![]()

I did better than I thought I would starting out. The trick is to take your time and not try and take to much off at once. Detailing it with be a whole other skill level I'm sure.

I don't think you will go far wrong with that set for starters, but I would also buy the Flexcut stropping kit to go with it. You will think you are doing more stropping than carving but the compound for sharpening really does a great job! Syren is looking great. Keith.

Keith I picked up this set here: Flexcut set and also this one as it is a 1mm which is getting really tiny where we need to be, Here Already have the stropping kit. Regards, ~

I trust everyone has survived New Years. Hopefully we have something to look forward to this year. I took another attempt at carving the stern decorations with my new chisels I just got finally from Flexcut. I would love to hear your thoughts, opinions and or suggestions before having another go or gluing on what I've done. I still have a bit more cleaning up to do on them. I made them in three pieces plus the little acorn sort of piece in the center. Cheers, Robin ~ ![]() ![]()

I started working on a slimmer version and it definately looks and feels much better with the overall scale. I've remade the top (over the ports) decor and will attempt to rework the existing side moldings. Cheers bud and Happy New Year to you and yours my friend. Didn't get a chance earlier ![]()
