Good on wood, metal and for plastic but be careful on plastic very small quantity at the time as it melt the plastic. As I said 2 inconvenient, the fume are toxic, and sanding as the dust is ultra fine it go every where so precaution as to be taken.

So, you go with bondo instead of resin. Never have used bondo not a car guy. By looking you mix it spread it on sand until your happy. Do you spray primer on next?

At this stage the plans call for cutting the hull off the board and shape the top for laying the deck, I plan to lay a sub deck then plank. The question is WHAT is the next move? I need to seal the hull so it will be very smooth and take primer and paint I have tossed it out around several sites and gotten some good ideas from excellent builders Resin, bondo, straight primer , spay on a coat of lacquer then prime just to name a few. I think I will cut the hull from the board prep the top and lay the sub deck, then work out best way forward on the hull. Any thoughts on this would be helpful ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The PT build is a little different as in it a bit more modern war fighting ship when colour mattered for defence. Second, I really like the wood I used for the hull, however, to get smooth lines and shape required I had to use some filler, brown & white, with a big patch of white on the port side upper. Being a single hull build there’s nothing to block out the filler, so the plan is to resin the hull, smooth very fine, prime with grey, then mix the proper (or as close as I can get) to the colour of the 105.

The detailing at this point will be a mixed bag. Use some of the kit supply, scratch build as much as I can, Will have to learn metal bending and soldering, then try a few 3D parts mainly the cockpit and control panels, Have never used 3D but I like the look of some of the more detailed parts, expensive but they look great. Again, the plan try a few parts I would rather build than become dependent on 3D for everything.

Will work the subdeck next, I have ordered the planking wood. ![]() ![]() ![]()
