I made a couple different versions of a stern transom jig/template, laser cut Alfred letters in the correct font in 100%, 105%, 110% scale, Transom trim pieces in both 1/16" and 1/8", another set of side gallery window jigs slightly modified and turned with the grain, arched window jigs in both 1/16" and 1/8", and a prototype bead trim. All in there are 205 parts plus some of the early prototypes to include CNC carved Alfred letters. This is enough to keep Brian busy for a while. In the meantime, I will keep working with Dave to develop the 3D carvings for the various statues and decorations as well as dive into the deep end of the pool on Jim J's Smithsonian project. Oh, I am also still cleaning up the STL file of some Black Pearl filagree for my dentist friend in Portugal as well. And my buddy Daniel really did a great paint job on the hull of his model with my email tutorial!!! He should be applying the clear coat today! DocBlake - I have not forgotten the CAD drawing for your homemade keel clamp tool. I can probably draw that up in about an hour. Perhaps tomorrow!! Never a dull moment here. Sail On!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Personally I wouldn't fancy to own a ship named Alfred but if it were my ship I would have requested you to make a stern carving like illustrated below. Some argues that the stern figure must have been a hound because Alfred was a hunter. I would, using the same logic, reason that it could just as likely have been the cowardly lion of Oz. Lions are supposed to be Kings and Alfred was a King. However the land for which them bishops proclaimed Alfred king was at that time occupied by the Danish Vikings and Alfred was a sissy who didn't have the balls to take up a proper fight. The only reason Alfred ever had any land to rule at all was because he payed a gigantic tribute (much more than they'd ever admit) to my brave ancestors for withdrawing from Wessex. ![]()
