Anyway I have completed the transom decorations (see photos). The biggest problem was the piece that crowned the transom. The piece provided by Amati turned out to be too narrow for the frames by about 1/2". I fixed it by cutting the crown piece in half and adding a pair of extra decorative panels left over from other parts of the model. (For those building the Amati kit this will give them a heads up). I glued them back to back and inserted them between the two halves of the crown piece with a few other items. The new crown piece turned out OK and It is now on the model. I decorated the Coat of Arms by down loading an image and using powerpoint to shape and size the central panels, then cut them out and glued them to the piece. Next I will work on the gun port hatches and canons. Mike ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I completed the Hull back in September, but put the project on the back burner while I worked on other projects. Here are a few pictures of the completed hull. I'm now working on the masts. I have a wood lath which is a great help in shaping the mast parts. I have assembled the mizzen mast and now attaching the rigging blocks. I will post a picture when I have completed the mast. I used a wood lath to shape the mast the mast trunks from maple dowels and used walnut and maple strip and sheet stock to form the cross trees, nest and supports. I have also installed some of the shrouds and dead eyes. The photo may not be the best, but you will get the idea. Next will be installing the masts, starting with the lowest trunks, installing the standing rigging then repeat the process for the upper mast trunks. Let me know what you think.![]()

I have also started on the running rigging by installing the spanker sail spar. The spars were all shaped from walnut dowels on my wood lath which was a real time saver compared to shaping the masts and spars by hand with sandpaper. I have included some pictures that I hope show off the work to date. Next step is to finish the running rigging then installing the anchors and flags. Lastly I will build some sort of display stand. Let me know if any has any display stand ideas. Thanks for your interest. Mike ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It is the ship that must catch the eye not the stand And the ship must be protected from the dust number one enemy of any kit. A beauty like your ship must be protected in a casing it is a must
