I originally intended scratch building something bigger, but reality stepped in! This is a perfect starting point for me and once this is completed, I may well move on to the Granado cross section. Both ideal sizes and easy to display. So here is my build log of my first 'proper' build. A few months ago, I removed some mahogany shelving from a room in my home that needed re-plastering. I kept the wood in case I became useful for something else and now it has. The mahogany is being used for the first parts. I have started with the side framing as these looked to be the most difficult to cut. The shelve pieces are thicker than the width of the side frames but I can sand them thinner once cut to shape. One thing with the drawings is that being in England, my printer uses A4 paper so.... I am presuming all parts in all the pages of drawings are of the same scale. If that is so, then my model will be in 'A4' scale so to speak. The following photo's are where I am so far... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I am finding some aspects easy and others a challenge, but I guess that's what learning is all about. It's not precise or perfect but I am happy to have this a s 'A Sampler'. All comments very welcome. PS: Yes, Mabel does sometimes stand up! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I also have used some MDF there as well. Tree nails are as per the instructions....cocktail sticks!
