The main goal of the project is to develop drawings which can be used immediately for the purposes of building a model or drawings suitable for developing modeling drawings from.
From the plans I have seen so far, at this point it is hard to lay down a specific set of guidelines as to what exactly is needed.
Perhaps developing some general categories and sub-categories should be the first step in the process. Then, someone can look at a set of plans and determine what category they would most easily fit into with the least amount of work. once they fit into a given category, if someone wishes to further develop them into something more, the updated drawings can be added at a later date. These are the categories that jump out to me at present.
Tracings - these are scans of drawings that need to be traced in CAD before we can make use of them.
Basic Lines Drawings - Contains the three most common drawings: Sheer/Profile plan, half-breadth plan, Body/Section plan
POF - Full model - Hull only model
POB - Full model - Hull only model
Cross Section Models
Final Formats:
- CAD - there's various software out there so we should probably decide on one that is compatible with most or all. To my limited knowledge that would be DWG & DXF.

Down the road, as my skills improve, I was thing about buying the plan sets from Model Expo for the Connie, Victory or Santisima. I like these model types because of their finished size. Won't need to move into a bigger house to house several full size models. | ||
