If it looks too shiny a little household dust will cure the problem. Mike

I have not put the ebony in the lathe as yet but have been getting the itch to give it a go. Now, with you info I'll be chucking it up. ![]() [ Edited Wed Mar 06 2013, 10:07pm ]

First I’ll cut the wood to maximum diameter and then begin to shape the gun. Thought some of you may like to know what I’m using for wood turning tools and the one in the picture is a carbide tip Mini Rougher by Easy Wood. I chose the carbide tipped tools because I’m new at wood turning and didn’t want to spend the time to learn to sharpen HSS. Though not being able to compare the carbide to the HSS I sure do like these, love not having to sharpen them, and learning to use them appears to be an easy and quick step for a beginner. Anyway, here we go with the ebony attempt for a short list swivel gun. ![]() ![]() [ Edited Thu Mar 07 2013, 06:21pm ]

About everything you could want to know on their website. They have some very good short videos too that will quickly get you on the right page “for how to use”. Easy Wood Tools

LOL..... I am not a wordsmith or put another way, not a whiz at the King's English. You would have to edit it, that's for sure, that's for dang sure. But, since I’m so enthusiastic about the carbide tips it maybe a chore I would attempt. Let me give it some thought. ![]()
