From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Details Class & type: Caravel Tons burthen: 60 – 70 tons Length: 17 m (56 ft) on deck Draught: 2.31 m (7.6 ft) Complement: 69 The model will be built to 1:32 scale The keel assembly will be made from European Beachwood and the frames will be mahogany. For a change of pace I started with the bow and stern half frames saving the easy full frames for last. I just hope I can get all the full frames jammed in middle. Once your frames are placed you will not see the notched out protion of the rising wood. So would it of been better to leave that portion out, instead of going thru all that work on the rising wood since you not going to see it anyway? Just wondering.... | ||

The notches also aide in alignment of the frames to the keel while gluing the frames. Mike | ||
