![]() ![]() Registered Member #2795 Joined: Mon Jun 04 2012, 11:57amPosts: 179 | This build has an amusing story....but I'm not going to get into it. it all hinged on the fact that I had stained the hull a dark walnut......the actual Regina is like a honey color. it also triggered the idea to change it's name. I added a few extra details on this build......raised aft railings, stairs to the aft deck, and custom decals made from a decal maker. it also features two anchors, instead of the single anchor the kit provided. ![]() ![]() Registered Member #2795 Joined: Mon Jun 04 2012, 11:57amPosts: 179 | thanks Arthur. it's a long story....I'll try to shorten it. this boat belongs to Tom Richardson@Billing Boats {USA}. he asked me to build it for him. when I mis-colored the hull I called him and told him about it. he didn't seem phased by it, so I mentioned the name change.....he liked that too. we tossed around some ideas and decided on a name that made him happy as a lark. we named it after his wife. she was quite embarrassed when she found out, but I was sending him build logs of it's progress, and she got to see it. I told him that the only way he was getting the ship, was if he picked it up himself...I wasn't going to risk shipping it, like I did the Cux. they came in the summer of last year to pick it up. they were quite pleased with the result....even Susan. I made the sails myself.....I asked my wife, but she didn't want to be to blame if a mistake occurred. can't blame her.....did enough cursing myself | ||
