

Philip Eisnor
(1931-2008)
Philip Eisnor was involved in the aviation and marine industries for over 40 years and retired as a Senior Marine Mechanical Draftsman. He was a private pilot and a professional model builder, having built numerous scale ship and aircraft models for various Canadian and American museums as well as private collectors. Philip was one of the earliest members of MSB having been involved with the MSB Journal before the website started a discussion forum. He was also involved in the Royal Canadian Air Cadet movement as an instructor, was a founding member of the Dartmouth Experimental Aircraft association and a member of the Armdale and Dartmouth Yacht Clubs (in Nova Scotia, Canada). In the model ship world he is probably best know for his research and drawings and models of the original Schooner Bluenose which are beleived by many to be perhaps the most accurate representation of the ship as she was readied for her first fishing season.

Gene Bodnar
(1941-2021)
Gene had held numerous jobs throughout his working career including, grocery store bagger, private investigator, and finally several jobs within the City of Detroit; working his way up to Head Accountant. After a total of 31 years he retired in 1991. Shortly after that Gene went to work for a time at as a consultant for Moylan Engineering, computerizing their Accounting Department. Other adventures would follow, such as building and selling model ships including a 5 piece sectiton model of the USS Constitution for the Constitution museum and the US Brig Eagle, built for the Battle of Plattsburg Association), writing a monthly nautically oriented column for the MSB Journal (he also wrote several model building practicums found here on the site), constructing over 2,000 crossword puzzles for newspapers, magazines and books. He moved to Clare in April of 2015 and shortly thereafter joined the Clare County Historical Society where he was a tireless volunteer, rarely missing a Saturday at the museum in the 5 years he was active. Other local interest included starting the Clare County Chess Club at the Pere Marquette District Library and becoming a member of the Clare County Arts Council.

Jim Januzik
(1949 – 2023)
Jim was a retired tattoo artist, Cub Scout leader, US Air Force veteran and prolific model builder. An avid book reader, he had more hobbies than is possible to list, always learning something new working from his home in North Carolina. From cast molding to model rockets, plastic kits, wooden ships, paper models, railroads and dioramas – Jim did it all. An original member of the Weasel Works R&D group, Jim researched and was building a model of the US Revenue Cutter Bear from Smithsonian plans.
