Just finished my second model, Mamoli’s HMS Beagle in 1/64 scale. I bought this kit about 7 years ago and got as far as starting the finish planking. During that time I purchased Marquardt’s copy of “Anatomy of a Ship HMS Beagle”. After reviewing and studying the drawings I became discouraged on how inaccurate Mamoli’s copy was and put it aside. This past Christmas, blew the cobwebs off it and decided to finish it. Primarily to refine and hone my model building skills. Still need to clean up some loose ends, but pleased with outcome. My first model was Artesania’s Bluenose II completed about 8 years ago. My current project, started last week is OcCre’s copy of the HMS Beagle which looks much closer to that illustrated in Marquardt’s book. Thanks again, expecting to learn and be inspired. ![]()

My first build was the AL Bluenose 11 that I started over 20 years ago when I was a factory Consultant in Montreal. Regards Lawrence [ Edited Sat Mar 05 2022, 12:05am ]

Despite you saying you're not happy with the accuracy of the model, it looks pretty good to me. Bear in mind that 99% of the people viewing it won't know there's anything wrong with it!
